Rich Riley, W’96, joined Shazam as CEO in 2013 with nearly 20 years’ experience as an entrepreneur and technology leader. Under his leadership, Shazam has grown to reach hundreds of millions of active users and evolved into a mobile platform that enables brands to engage consumers via TV, Radio, Cinema, Retail, Print and more.
Prior to joining Shazam, Rich spent over 13 years at Yahoo!, which he joined in 1999 after Yahoo! acquired Log-Me-On.com, the company he cofounded that invented the toolbar. He started at Yahoo! as a Manager in Corporate Development and eventually became EVP of the Americas, reporting to the CEO as a member of Yahoo’s Executive Management team.
Rich received his BSc in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and a regular guest on CNBC, CNN, Bloomberg and Fox. He also serves on Wharton’s Entrepreneurial Advisory Board and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). Rich lives in New Canaan, Connecticut, with his wife and four children.
