Withdrawal Form Students may withdraw from a course by submitting this form, including documented instructor approval, by 5:00 PM ET on day of the withdrawal deadline. Please note the following: Students must obtain permission from the instructor to withdraw from a course and upload documentation of that permission below. The instructor's written or emailed permission must include the following language: "I understand the University policy that students may withdraw from a course by the posted academic deadline with the written or emailed permission of the instructor and that a withdrawal will appear as a “W” on the transcript and will not be calculated into the student’s grade point average. I support [student name]'s request for withdrawal from [department-course number-section]." Some academic departments have different rules governing their drop/request and withdrawal policies. Consult the department website and faculty for more information. These exceptions must be approved by petition. After the deadline, students who have an extraordinary circumstance must contact an advisor in the Wharton Undergraduate Division. A withdrawal will appear as a “W” on the transcript and will not be calculated into the student’s grade point average.
