Withdrawal Form

  • Students may withdraw from a course by submitting this form, including documented instructor approval, by 5:00 PM ET on day of the withdrawal deadline.

    Please note the following:

    • Students must obtain permission from the instructor to withdraw from a course and upload documentation of that permission below. The instructor's written or emailed permission must include the following language: "I understand the University policy that students may withdraw from a course by the posted academic deadline with the written or emailed permission of the instructor and that a withdrawal will appear as a “W” on the transcript and will not be calculated into the student’s grade point average. I support [student name]'s request for withdrawal from [department-course number-section]."
    • Some academic departments have different rules governing their drop/request and withdrawal policies. Consult the department website and faculty for more information. These exceptions must be approved by petition.
    • After the deadline, students who have an extraordinary circumstance must contact an advisor in the Wharton Undergraduate Division.
    • A withdrawal will appear as a “W” on the transcript and will not be calculated into the student’s grade point average.
