Career Readiness @ Wharton

The Career Readiness @ Wharton program is designed to provide students with a framework for navigating the complexities of the professional world. Open to first-year Wharton students, this program combines instruction from career-education professionals with mentorship from upper-level Wharton students to help students explore industries and gain confidence and the skills essential to a successful job search.

Sessions

Explore—Learn about potential industries and how to leverage resources like Penn Career Services, Handshake, LinkedIn, and MyPenn

Engage—Build skills around résumé and cover-letter creation, email etiquette, and online presence

Launch—Prepare for networking and behavioral interviews

Apply—Integrate program learnings and apply them in a mock interview with a Wharton alum

Spring 2026 Calendar

We will offer the program for two cohorts this spring. One cohort will meet from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, and the other will meet from 1:00 to 2:30 pm on the following days:

  • February 6 – Explore
  • February 13 – Engage
  • February 20 – Launch
  • February 27 – Apply

Eligibility & Application

Students must be available for all four dates to participate. When applying, please select which cohort(s) you are available for. You cannot do a mix of mornings and afternoons.

The application will open in November.

Wharton Story: Helping Undergrads Navigate Industry Recruiting

Contrary to stereotypes, it’s uncommon to find first-year undergraduates walking through campus wearing suits. On Fridays, it’s more likely they’re sitting on blankets in the Quad or chatting over a latte outside of Huntsman Hall’s coffee shop. But, this past February, 90 first-years headed to the Academic Research Building in their nicest professional attire.
